Kansas City Symphony Chorus Donations
We ended a fantastic 2010-2011 season and are in the middle of our historic 2011-2012 season in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. As we continue to prepare for our 2011-2012 season, we are pleased to have achieved our goal of $10,000.00, with a final amount of nearly $13,000! As always, your contributions will be needed to allow the work of the KCSC to continue in the community, ensure the continuation of the highest caliber Symphonic Choral works, and to help us realize our plans to infuse additional community programming. During the opening Kauffman Center GALA, we were delighted to share the stage with the Orchestra, Itzhak Perlman, Diana Krall, as well as a salute to Kansas City jazz featuring composer/musician Bobby Watson. We have since celebrated a successful, sold-out Brahms and Beethoven weekend with the Symphony Orchestra.

The Kansas City Symphony Chorus (KCSC) has offered quality choral music to the greater Kansas City metropolitan area for more than forty years, first as the Mendelssohn Choir, then as the Civic Chorus. In 1988, shortly after the creation of the Kansas City Symphony, the choir became the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, an independent 501(C)3 not-for-profit organization.
For most people, it is a surprise to learn that we are a non profit separate from the Kansas City Symphony (Symphony). As "the choral voice of the Symphony," we uniquely allow the Symphony to present quality performances of choral compositions each season. Over the past 22 years, the KCSC has grown into a magnificent 163-voice, auditioned, all-volunteer chorus, with each member generously giving not only of their talent but also of approximately 200 hours of their time throughout each concert season.
The Kansas City Symphony Chorus is supported through a combination of donations, grants, membership contributions and the generous support of our patrons which supports the Executive Director, Accompanist, and Assistant Rehearsal Director salaries as well as costs for rehearsal space rental, administration, utilities, and website maintenance. Your contribution will allow us to continue providing this important option to the Symphony so that, together, we may bring masterworks of orchestral-choral repertoire to our community.
