Executive Director Communication
A letter to the KCSC: September, 2009
Dear New and Returning Singers:
Welcome everyone! Thank you for your enthusiasm and work as we begin our season with the Lord Nelson Mass.
This year we will have possibilities for growth beyond our musicianship, which is an exciting way to begin a season. We hope to provide opportunities for volunteer work and involvement within our chorus and beyond, as we continue to
re-establish our presence in the KC arts community.
Mr. Bruffy is equally excited about the sound of the chorus and what we have been able to achieve through auditions and
with the return of our veteran musicians. Our 120+ member chorus helps us 'set the stage' for the forthcoming Kauffman
Performing Arts Center (http://www.kcperformingartscenter.org/) and provides the Kansas City Symphony with a solid chorus membership capable of any collaboration.
On behalf of our Symphony family, the Symphony Chorus, and the board of directors, we welcome you to our 2009-2010
season!

A letter to the KC Arts Community: April, 2009
Dear Symphony Community:
As we reach the end of our 2008-2009 season with the Kansas City Symphony, we gladly look to
next season with high expectations. We have experienced many exciting moments this past season,
including unique performances, (i.e. Video Games Live in November; Mendelssohn's rarely performed
Symphony-Cantata Lobgesang "Hymn of Praise"; and the forthcoming Lord of the Rings Symphony), as well as
welcoming our new Artistic Director, Charles Bruffy.
I am pleased to step in to 2009-2010, with the peace of knowing we have a talented and professional
VOLUNTEER chorus, which can accept any challenge with enthusiasm! We have seen and felt the
reward of our continued collaborative work with the Symphony, and hope you all come with us on
our journey next season and beyond.
Once again, auditions will be held in late summer for any new talented singers that wish to join
our symphony family. The Kauffman Performing Arts Center is right around the corner and we are
looking to grow our chorus to meet the demands of the Performing Arts Center, as well as having the
ability to experience the full joy of the new performance hall.
On behalf of our Symphony family, the Symphony Chorus, and the board of directors, we say thank
you for your continued support.
